The Nuits-St-Georges appellation gave part of its name to the great northern portion of the Côte d'Or (i.e., the Côte de Nuits). The wines of Nuits-St-Georges have a reputation for being sturdy and long lived, with aromas and flavours ranging from fruity (for Burgundy) and elegant to opulent and rich. This example, from the small, exciting négociant Adamas, features aromas of cherry, smoked meat and underbrush. It is dry and vibrant with ripe tannins. Needs about one year to really shine and then will drink well for a decade. |
