Deep intense purple colour. Spicy, attractive, juicy ripe red and black cherry nose. Dry, well balanced, medium bodied, fairly well structured, plummy, ripe cherry flavours with a long lingering finish. |

TASTING NOTE: This is distinctly riper than its '04 counterpart with a deft touch of wood framing the dark berry fruit and warm earth aromas that lead to rich, full, sweet and firm flavors that offer good detail on the sappy, persistent and slightly austere finish that definitely displays old vine depth of extract. This is not a big wine but I like the focus and finishing intensity. Drink 2011+. Score - 88. (Allen Meadows, www.burghound.com, Jan. 1, 2007) |
