MINERVOIS 2006 AC |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
Domaine des Homs |
Contrary to what appears in the Vintages catalogue, the back label says that this is a blend of Syrah and Grenache. It has an extremely deep intense purple colour. Juicy, plummy, ripe red black cherry nose with lots of cedar notes. Firm, dry, medium bodied, fairly harmonious, ripe plum and dried ripe cherry flavours with a lingering finish. |

A Gold Medal winner at the 2008 Concours Général Agricole Paris. Minervois’ Mediterranean climate tends to produce intense and fruity red wines. For this 80% Syrah and 20% Carignan blend, Domaine des Homs did not mature the wines in oak barrels but in stainless steel vats. The resulting red wine bursts with varietal characteristics such as black fruit and peppery spices. Match this succulent red with grilled sausages and vegetables. |
