| GRAN RESERVA ALTO TOQUI CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2021 DO Valle de Cachapoal |
| Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
CASAS DEL TOQUI |
Bottled on October 7, 2022 this 100% Cabernet Franc has a deep purple red colour and an attractive, fairly intense, ripe, black-cherry-cranberry nose with some toasty, faintly savoury, sandalwood notes. Dry, medium-plus bodied, harmonious and nicely textured, it shows ripe, plummy, cassis fruit along with a lingering, gently cedary, bright finish. While it can still age, it is showing very nicely now and offers great value and crowd-pleasing versatility. An impressive red that comes in a hefty bottle at a great price.

| TASTING NOTE: A delicious and fruity interpretation of cabernet from Alto Cachapoal, about 600 meters up at the foot of the Andes. A layer of fresh herbs that accompanies ripe red fruits, the texture of the tannins is very fine, the acidity is lively, and fresh herbs appear once again on the finish. A prototype of the area's style of cabernet sauvignon. To accompany stewed meats. Score - 92 (Patricio Tapia, guiadescorchados.cl, 2024) |
