YEREVAN 782 BC DRY RED 2024 Armavir, Aragatsotn
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer YEREVAN
Armenia is the home of the worlds oldest winery which dates back over 6,000 years. This blend of two key indigenous grapes - 65% Areni and 35% Karmrahyut is grown at 1,100 m. Named after the capital city Yerevan which was founded in 782 BC, it has a deep intense purple-red colour and a very pleasant Damson plum nose with just a hint of sandalwood. Dry, medium-plus bodied, quite nicely textured with faintly spicy, harmonious, ripe plum-raspberrry flavours followed up by a lingering, bright, tea-tinged finish. Versatile and ready-to-drink, this crowd-pleaser is reminiscent of a Piedmont cross of Nebbiolo and Dolcetto. Perfect with pasta, it has 13% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar. CSPC 41365
