Slightly cedary, very complex, intense, lime purée nose. Complex, mouthfilling, gently cedary, medium-full bodied, slightly spicy, concentrated lime purée flavours with excellent mid-palate and a lingering finish. A great Bordeaux!
[Gold]93Lackner-Tinnacher 2005 Sauvignon Blanc Welles (Austria, South Stryria)
Faily pungent, grassy nose that leans in a New Zealand direction with hints of yellow grapefruit and a touch of rhubarb. Very dry and crisp with lots of grassy flavours, mineral notes and bright hints of dried lemon. Long lingering finish with excellent acidity.

Complex, gently cedary, lovely, intense, ripe lemon-melon grape nose. Refined, gently smoky, medium bodied but fairly fleshy, elegant, ripe white peach flavours. Very tasty!

A bit subdued on the nose. Very pleasant, honeyed ripe melon and rhubarb fruit. Dry, well balanced and quite delicious with spicy, harmonious, ripe melon-lemon purée flavours with just a hint of cedar on the lingering finish.

Quite pungent, crisp, bright, zesty, somewhat grassy, fresh ripe lemon-melon-rhubarb aromas. Very dry, very slightly tart, medium bodied, slightly honeyed, ripe, grassy, gooseberry tinged flavours with a touch of grapefruit peel on the lingering finish.Seems to grow in the glass.

Distinctive, somewhat complex, ripe melon nose with hints of Seville orange marmalade. Dry, bright, attractive, medium bodied, fairly well structured, slightly spicy, zesty, ripe melon and Seville orange marmalade flavours with hints of ruby grapefruit and racy acidity. A bit unusual but very tasty.

Quite rounded, very gently spicy, slightly honeyed, ripe lemon-melon fruit with hints of grapefruit peel. Dry, bright, only medium to medium-light bodied, very pleasant, ripe melon and fairly crisp, ripe lemon flavours. Clean albeit a bit light on the finish.

Fairly elegant, slightly honeyed, ripe lemon-pear aromas but without much “oomph”. Gently spicy, on the light side of medium bodied, gently grassy, ripe lemon-melon flavours with a crisp finish. Elegant with gentle rhubarb hints on the finish.

Very slightly cedary nose with some ripe lemon-pear aromas, which seems to leani n a Chardonnay direction. Dry, bright, crisp, medium-light bodied, tangy, drying out, ripe lemon-melon flavours with a very slightly tart rhubarb finish. Good length.

Fairly intense, ripe ruby grapefruit nose with faint just a faint hint of sulphur on the single sample presented. Very dry, slightly tart, gently schisty, intense, medium to medium-light bodied, ripe lemon and slightly grassy, grapefruit peel flavours. Initially quite nice on the palate but seems to fall off.

Juicy, ripe melon nose with some lemon and grapefruit notes along with a touch of minerality and nuttiness. Nutty, slightly salty, very dry, rather light in the middle with some very slightly tart, nutty notes on the finish.
[Bronze]86Steenberg 2005 Sauvignon Blanc Reserve (South Africa, Constantia)
A bit austere, extremely dry and quite grassy with vibrant, gooseberry-driven aromas. Fairly intense, very dry, rather crisp and tart, slightly bitter and smoky, medium bodied, flavourful, slightly spicy, dried ripe lemon flavours with some slightly yeasty notes.
