Monica is the grape’s name (Monica di Sardegna, in this version). Originally a Spanish grape, ‘she’ is thought to be extinct there but is widely cultivated in Sardinia. Some believe the California grape called Mission is actually Monica. ‘She’ tends to make pleasing, quaffable wines ideally suited to back ribs from the barbecue. Our panel’s tasting note: A robust wine with aromas reminiscent of plum, pipe tobacco and new leather. (Aug. 2000) Price $ 12.95
Bottle Size 750 mL
