RIESLING ICEWINE 2002 VQA Niagara Peninsula
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer Cave Spring
Very deep yellow colour, which seems to have darkened considerably from when it was last assessed (September 4, 2004). Complex, intense, sweet and sour lemon drop candy nose with some caramel and corn syrup notes. Solid, sweet but balanced, rich, viscous, spicy, lemon pie and caramel-vanilla ice cream flavours. Has excellent acidity on the finish that keep the wine balanced. Maturing - at peak! CSPC 447441

Tasting note: Serious stuff here, with a sweet/tart component that has my dentist rubbing his hands with glee. Unctuous and packed with apricot, mandarin orange and ruby grapefruit flavors that remain focused and vivid, then melt away on the lingering finish. Drink now through 2008. Score – 92.
