Great Nose!
LCBO Note Status Recommended by Vintage Assessments!
TASTING NOTE: Wonderful, luminous, orange/honey color; the expansive, generous, fruity, slightly sherried, piquant nose is simultaneously alluring and assertive … the off-dry palate sings with mellow fruit, then fades neatly into a medium length and strength aftertaste that concludes on a tarry tobacco note; it’s the lightest, most sedate, and best behaved of the SGRs and a total pleasure to savor as an afterdinner treat; noble Lepanto is a true velvet hammer – though it carries the big stick, it walks very softly indeed. Score – (out of 5), (F. Paul Pacult, Kindred Spirits, 1997). Price $ 84.95
