TASTING NOTE: Nose: An intense assault of pear drops, lime peel and Haribo jelly sweets. Incredibly fruity. Palate: Very creamy but not as sweet as the nose would lead you to believe. Loads of grassy spice with honeyed oak after a moment. Finish: Quinine dry. Comment: This malt used to be a tad young, the current bottling is older and certainly works better. Score – 7 1/2 (out of 10). (Peter Mulryan, www.whiskymag.com) |
