TASTING NOTE: Tawse produced four Rieslings from the 2007 vintage, ranging from the light and uncomplicated Sketches of Niagara Riesling to drier, more considerable Wismer Vineyard Riesling to the analytical and complex Carly s Block Riesling. As enjoyable and effortless as the Sketches of Niagara Riesling may seem, co-winemaker Paul Pender explains it was the toughest of the trio to make. There was a lot of work to arrive at that. ... The slightly off-dry, sweet-and-sour-tinged white was knit together with fruit from four different vineyards to produce a wine with appealing fresh fruit (a mix of tropical, lime and grapefruit notes) that s perfectly in tune with the change in season.
