Bright ambering gold colour. Intense, slightly smoky, plummy-caramel nose. Solid, quite dry, fairly spicy, somewhat peppery, medium to medium-full bodied, slightly smoky, baked plum flavours with a lingering finish. This unchillfiltered 8-year-old whisky won a Silver Medal at the prestigious and highly competitive International Wine and Spirit Competition in 2006 -- the highest accolade that year, as no Gold Medals were awarded. This whisky offers an intriguing whiff of sherry from its partial maturation in sherry casks.
