Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer Nannoni
Made from Cabernet and Merlot pomace used to make Ornellaia, this aged grappa has a very light gold colour. Expansive, spicy (cinnamon and clove), sweet grassy nose. Refined, dry, harmonious, very gently grassy, ripe melon flavours with a lingering rather spicy finish. Last appeared in Vintages (***) on November 24, 2007 at $76.95 and was an Explorer Selection. [Distilled] from the pomace of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes grown on the Ornellaia Estate in Bolgheri, Italy, and aged 18 months in wood, this honey-colored grappa exhibits flavors of raisins, figs, candied ginger, buttered toast, and nuts before segueing into a spicy finish.
