Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
(The Balvenie Distillery/William Grant & Sons |
Last released on October 8, 2008 at $113.95. Subsequently rated **+/*** and Recommended. My note: Fairly deep gold colour. Complex, spicy, very slightly smoky, sweetish, caramel-plum nose. Fairly elegant, spicy, bright, tangy, ripe plum and caramel flavours with a lingering, very faintly peppery finish. |

Being single barrel the bottlings do change quite regularly; fortunately the magnificence of the quality rarely does. (Jim Murray, Whisky Bible, 2007) TASTING NOTE: Nose: cracking vanilla malt split. Complex, intriguing, something to really get your nose into. Quite maltings floorish; Taste: massive malt surge is invigorating and mouthwatering. Glorious; Finish: keeps clean and relatively oak free; Balance: just one of those drams that should be within touching distance at strategic points around the house. Score - 93. (Jim Murray, Whisky Bible, 2007) |
