LCBO Note Status Recommended by Vintage Assessments!
Made with the marc of aromatic Moscato grapes, this is a particularly expressive grappa. TASTING NOTE: Mineral water clean and pure. Opening smells remind me of tropical fruits, especially guava, pineapple, and, most of all, banana; aeration releases a succulent baking spice note that mixes well with the tropical fruit component. Entry is minerally/chalky, pleasantly ripe, viscous in texture; the mid palate point is earthy, floral (since this is moscato, where has the floweriness been up to this point?), stony, and off dry. Finishes gracefully, stony/minerally, and drier than the mid palate. Score HHHH (out of 5). (F. Paul Pacult, Kindred Spirits 2, 2008) Price $ 64.95
