FOREIGN AFFAIR CABERNET SAUVIGNON ICEWINE 2007 VQA Niagara Peninsula
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer FOREIGN AFFAIR
Julian Hitner tasting note: Brilliant, medium red-cranberry colour.
Intense baked strawberries and cranberries, with red raisins, floral
scents, and a hint of spice. Clean, with sweet, tasty fruit, balanced
acidity, and a satisfying hint of baked strawberries on the finish.
Nicely done: simplistic, yet approachable, balanced, and tasty; though perhaps a tad cloying. Overpriced in my estimation. Now-2013.

TASTING NOTE: A very rich Cabernet Sauvignon icewine that benefited from the intense heat of [the] 2007 vintage. Stacked with guava, raspberry, strawberry and plum jam, and lighter accents of thyme honey, the finish hangs around on the taste buds for a long time. Chocolate fondue would just be a mind blowing experience with this stickie. Score - 92. (Evan Saviolidis, www.winesavvy.ca, Sept. 2008) Price $ 32.95
