CONNEMARA PEATED SINGLE MALT IRISH WHISKEY Irish Whiskey |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
Cooley Distillery |
Bright medium gold colour. Intense, fairly peaty, slightly smoky, honeyed, somewhat peppery, spicy, anticeptic nose. Solid, dry, medium to medium-full bodied, slightly smoky, spicy, honeyed, slightly wheaty, ripe plum flavours with a lingering antiseptic-tinged finish. Definitely not as good as the recommended release of March 14, 2009 at $63.95. |

TASTING NOTE: Bright golden amber color. Lovely aromas of honeyed nuts and cereal, dried lavender, delicately herbal peat, yeasty dough, and beeswax follow through on a rich entry to a dryish medium-full body with ginger and praline notes. Finishes with a long, grassy peppery spice fade. Excellent. Score – 93. (www.tastings.com, May 6, 2009) |
