RIESLING KABINETT Munsterer Kapellenberg 2008 QbA
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer KRUGER-RUMPF
Very pale straw colour. Spicy, tangy, slightly honeyed, ripe lemon nose. Slightly sweet, zesty, medium to medium-light bodied, attractive, very spicy, ripe lemon-melon-apple-grapefruit flavours with a lingering, crisp, unoaked finish. A great summer sipper which has some refreshing hints of CO2. Better than the recommended 2004 (*+/**) released on October 28, 2006 at $17.95. Ignore the note in the Vintages Catalogue suggesting that you keep this wine until 2022. CSPC 721928

A Best Buy
TASTING NOTE: Ripe strawberry and pear are nicely supported by the wine’s sweetness, and fresh lime, nut oils and salt add interest on a glossy but buoyant palate and a persistently sappy and saline as well as dynamic finish. Like the Rheinberg, it’s unapologetically but not excessively sweet. Enjoy it over the next ten or a dozen years. Drink: 2010-2022. Score: 89 (David Schildknecht, www.erobertparker.com, Feb. 2010) Price $ 18.95
