SKETCHES OF NIAGARA RIESLING 2009 VQA Niagara Peninsula
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer TAWSE
Extremely pale straw colour. Youthful, ripe apple nose with some hints of honey. Fairly dry, slightly honeyed, spicy, medium-light bodied, ripe lemon-melon-apple flavours with a tangy, clean, lingering, mineral finish. Has 20 grams of residual sugar, which is well balanced by an extremely high total acidity (13 g/l). A by-the-glass appetizer wine. Screwcap closure. Tasted three times each time with slightly varying scores. I suspect that this will improve with additional aging. Better than the 2007 (*+/**) released on August 16, 2008 at $18.20. Great with appetizers such as smoked salmon. CSPC 89029

\"Gold Medal winner at the 2009 Canadian Wine Awards. TASTING NOTE: Delicate mineral, floral and lemon-lime aromas waft from this mid weight, generously textured off-dry beauty. With a glorious fusion of sweet and tangy flavour on the palate sweet ripe tropical fruit and bracing citrus it delivers that sweet and tang, yin and yang that pairs so well with spicy Asian cuisine. The finish lingers 30 seconds or more, well balanced and delectable. It s a lovely wine delivering very good value.
