LCBO Note |

|
"Mezcal is made throughout Mexico, unlike Tequila which is confined to a specific area around the same-named city in the state of Guadalajara. While both are made from the agave plant, Tequila uses the blue agave and Mezcal the agave also known as maguey (pronounced muh-GAY). Mezcal has a distinct smoky flavour – enriched here by several months in oak – and is traditionally enjoyed straight." |
