Jim Beam Distilleries |
Medium golden amber colour. Peppery, rather resinous, slightly sweet, spicy (cinnamon), dusty apple nose. Dry, intense, very flavourful, spicy, extremely bright, cedar-cinnamon flavours with a persistent finish. Tastes better than it smells. Last appeared in Vintages (**) on April 2, 2005 at $42.95. |

Distillers maintain their house style, with remarkable consistency, from year to year. TASTING NOTE: Nose: Excellent rye bite to firm and sweet nose. Fruity: mature plums and over ripe banana star. Palate: Rye kicks off early and allows bitter and prickly, softly spiced, middle to ensure a characterful, multi-layered bourbon. Finish: Massively complex follow through with quite enormous and beautiful chocolate notes ... Tasty stuff. Score: 8 1/2 (out of 10) (Jim Murray, www.whiskymag.com, June 16, 2000) |
