Poire William is made by distilling the juice of Williams pears (known as Bartlett pears in North America). The result is a dry, aromatic spirit with aromas and flavours of, well, pears. It is a superlative after-dinner digestif that is best enjoyed out of a snifter. It is also a precious ingredient in cooking and baking. |
