TASTING NOTE: Leinburn takes its name from the last tributary to join the River Spey before it meets the North Sea. This 18-year-old offers bright medium honey-gold in the glass with a nice mellow nose of smoke, praline, caramel, candied orange peel and spiced tea. The palate features a superb undercurrent of smoke and spice making for a satisfying, round and cheerful sipping Scotch. (Vintages panel, June 2011) |
