BOURBON 17 YEARS OLD Kentucky Small Batch |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
Rowan’s Creek Distillery |
Deep amber colour. Very intense, rather spicy, vanilla stick and brunt apple nose. Very dry, firm, somewhat austere, restrained, peppery flavours with a lingering vanilla-tinged finish. Very powerful at 50.5% alcohol and an acquired taste. This one was “handmade” on 11-9/1983 and bottled 9-19/2000. |

This is an opportunity to try a spirit that is a throwback to the rebel pride of the original Bourbon producers. Rowan’s Creek is both a tribute to and a recapturing of that time. The alcohol content is 50.5% alc./vol. Tasting note: Amber with a dark golden cast. Medium-bodied. Reminiscent of pear, lemon, honey and flowers. Smooth texture. Elegant and attractive on the palate. Stunning velvety mouthfeel of delicate fruit and spice elements that carry forth a highly fragrant, lingering finish. Score — 91. (Beverage Tasting Institute Inc. in Chicago, Dec. 1996) |
