LCBO Note Status
Decanter’s 1998 Man of the Year. Tasting note: Very dark, honey-coloured distillate with highly concentrated tones of wood and ripeness in its strong bouquet. The aroma is reminiscent of an ancient cupboard opened only after a long time: resin, raisins, dried herbs, a breath of camphor. In taste a heavy, concentrated sweetness with accentuated wood tannins, fruity and bitter in finish. In its overall impression more in the line of a cognac than a grappa, but perfectly balanced between strength and elegance. A highly unusual digestive.
