TASTING NOTE: Pretty yellow-gold colour with aromas of pear preserves, butterscotch, dried apricot, smoke and leather. Dry, smoothly textured, smoky and leathery, and very clean. With a splash of water, the floral and fruit tones join the smoke and leather on the palate. Rich and fresh on the long, layered finish. It shows very well neat, but absolutely sings with a thimble of water. (Vintages panel, Aug. 2011) |
