LICOR BEIRÃO Portugal
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer J. Carranca Redondo
This October 15th “Rapid Release” is not in the Vintages Catalogue and was not presented in the LCBO lab. Here is my tasting note from a sample provided by the agent. Medim deep golden yellow colour. Intense, sweet, Seville orange marmalade nose with some spicy, candied orange rind notes. Swtt, medium bodied, harmonious, slightly spicy, ripe, Seville orange marmalade flavours with a lingering, bright finish. CSPC 259366

TASTING NOTE: The brown/dark amber color is pretty and pure. The nose at opening offers fresh garden-like scents of orange peel, honeysuckle, jasmine, and rose petal; time in the glass afford the opportunity for other herbal fragrances to emerge, among them anise, thyme, and rosemary. The palate entry is intensely sweet, almost red fruit ripe, and remarkably minty; the mid palate juncture features spicy tastes of peppermint, tangerine peel, and tea leaves. The finish is sweet but not cloying, herbal, and minty. Very nice. Recommended. Score 3 STARS (out of 5). (F. Paul Pacult, Kindred Spirits 2, 2008) Price $ 27.95
