RIESLING ICEWINE 2009 VQA Niagara Peninsula, Paul Bosc Estate Vineyard
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer CHÂTEAU DES CHARMES
(Not presented at the press preview in the LCBO lab. It is also included as part of the January 21 ISD selections! Tasted at a Wine Country Ontario icewine event in December. This 2009 is stunning - the best of all 2009’s tasted to date. It is rich, viscous and yet balanced with terrific acidity. It has intense, sweet, complex, caramel-tinged, ripe apple puree flavours that go on and on. I will update my tasting note in the next few days after reviewing the numerous icewines I have recently reviewed.) CSPC 413724

TASTING NOTE: A sweet treat to end the tasting, and, wow, what a beautiful icewine. The nose is killer with sweet wild honey, apricot, peach and quince that comes at you in waves. It’s thick, unctuous on the palate with sweet, concentrated fruits, honey goodness and balancing acidity. Score: 94 (Rick VanSickle, winesinniagara.com, Aug. 2011) Price $ 59.95
Bottle Size 375 mL
Tasting Date vintages release - January 21, 2012
