PROPRIETORS' GRAND RESERVE GEWÜRZTRAMINER ICEWINE 2007 VQA Niagara Peninsula
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer JACKSON-TRIGGS
Medium yellow colour. Intense, complex, spicy, sweet Seville orange marmalade nose with some vanilla notes. Sweet, bright, medium bodied, spicy, ripe apple puree flavours with a lingering, tropical fruit cocktail tinged finish. Seems a tad better than the 2007 (**+) released on December 11, 2010 at $34.95. LCBO Note Status Recommended by Vintage Assessments!
This bold Icewine deserves a full-flavoured, sweet dessert such as cheesecake or crème brûlée. TASTING NOTE: A terrific dessert wine that will cap a wonderful meal. Redolent of ripe apricot, peach and pear preserves. Lovely honey-infused finish. Bring it on! Food matches: serve slightly chilled on its own, with rich pâtés, fresh fruit, rich (but not overly sweet) desserts or a selection of fine cheeses. Drink: 2011-2020. Score: 93 (Natalie MacLean, nataliemaclean.com, June 6, 2011) Price $ 34.95
