Created in 1903 by UK-based Berry Bros., specifically for King Edward VII, King’s Ginger Liqueur is a combination of macerated ginger root in a neutral spirit, plus a judicious addition of lemon oil to give the spicy ginger a lovely refreshing citrus tone. TASTING NOTE: Bright ginger beer aromas with a silky fruity sweet medium-to-full body and a warming, peppery, honeyed pickled ginger and wasabi-like finish. A vibrant choice to create lively Asian-inspired cocktails. Exceptional. Score: 91 (tastings.com, Sept. 29, 2011) |
