Very light golden yellow colour. Gently spicy, slightly honeyed, faintly peppery, vanilla-stick nose. Elegant, spicy, bright, well balanced, slightly honeyed, dry but fairly rounded, dried ripe lemon flavours and a lot of caramel flavours on the finish. TASTING NOTE: Another terrific choice is Locke’s 8 Year Old Single Malt. There’s a good dollop of Scotch-like peat in this one too, laced with notes of toasted cereal and dried fruit and finishing with vanilla and a tangy, smoky edge. (Beppi Crosariol, The Globe and Mail, March 11, 2006) |
