| The most recent previous bottling of this just-bottled Scotch received 94.5 points in Jim Murray’s Whisky Bible, 2013 edition. TASTING NOTE: Pleasant and engaging on the nose with aromas of pralines, honeyed graham crackers, butterscotch, dried apricot and light peat smoke. The mouthfeel is smooth and round and carries a bit of a bite more of a smoldering fire than a blazing flame. It closes with a long butterscotch-and-smoke finish. A few drops of water will bring out saltwater taffy notes. A real beauty. (Vintages panel, March 2013) |
