COGNAC ‘CUVÉE 20’ ‘Lot #0341’, Fine Petite Champagne With Gift Box |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
Cognac L’Héraud |
Deep golden amber colour, which is in tune with the 20 years this Cognac spent in barrel (as opposed to caramel colouring). Complex, spicy, floral, sweet prune nose. Very bright n the palate with slightly peppery, dried lemon peel flavours that shows good typicity. Very dry finish. |

L’Héraud is one of the best growers, selling only its own Cognacs. The Lhéraud family have lived at Lasdoux since 1639 and now own 62 ha on some of the best slopes in the Petite Champagne. It has distilled wines for more than a century, but has sold under its own name only since 1971. (Nicholas Faith, Simon and Schuster Pocket Guide to Cognac and Other Brandies) L’Héraud is unique amongst Cognac producers as they make distillates only from grapes grown on their own property in the Petite Champagne region. Their Cognac ‘Cuvée 20’ is aged a full 20 years in barrel before bottling. |
