TASTING NOTE: Named for the master distiller's grandfather, John Jacob is a three-year-old 100% rye whiskey aged in charred oak barrels. Very open and sure in its aromas of cereal, orange zest, honey and tree sap. There is a lovely spice complexity on the nose too, notably great allspice and cinnamon notes. Very well balanced with good integration of the alcohol making for a smooth and flavourful experience. Round and intense with a spicy finish. (Vintages panel, April 2013) Price $ 57.95
