TASTING NOTE: (translated from the Spanish) The Spanish Association of Wine Writers and Journalists have chosen Gonzalez Byass Lepanto Solera Gran Reserva brandy as best distilled wine in the 2011 edition of their Guide ... This award is a fitting recognition of this Gran Reserva, which is aged for 12 years in the manner of traditional Solera and Criaderas. The American oak casks which have previously contained fino sherry add flavour, colour and aroma, providing distinct elegance and tastiness. Brown in colour with bright flashes of amber and a quite iodized nose, displaying aromas of ripe fruit, with touches of citrus and apricots, over a balsamic background. Its flavor is true to type at the entrance, with nice creaminess, and there are balanced touches of warmth and acidity on the finish. Round and seductive.
