SKETCHES OF NIAGARA RIESLING 2012 VQA Niagara Peninsula
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer TAWSE
Bright very pale straw colour. Intense, youthful, attractive, ripe apple puree nose with some hints of honey. Just off-dry (22 g/L residual sugar), medium-light bodied, slightly honeyed, spicy, ripe lemon-melon-apple flavours with a tangy, clean, lingering, unoaked, mineral-tinged finish. Screwcap closure. Still youthful and perhaps the best yet. Last appeared in Vintages (***) on February 2, 2013 at $17.95 and was Recommended Best Buy. CSPC 89029

A Best Buy
TASTING NOTE: This carries on the medal winning tradition of Tawse s basic riesling. It s simple compared to the taut mineral driven single vineyard wines that cost more, but the acid-sugar balance is perfect and the winemaking is pristine. And the length overshoots the price. What more do you want from a summer riesling - peach, lemon, white flowers - done. Score: 91 (David Lawrason, winealign.com, June 2013) Price $ 17.95
Bottle Size 750 mL
