ANTIQUE XO PREMIER CRU GRANDE CHAMPAGNE COGNAC AC
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer HINE
Bright orange-tinged medium amber colour. Expansive, very slightly spicy, honeyed, warm plum nose with some warm butter, caramel and autumnal fallen leaf notes. Dry, very bright, medium bodied, slightly honeyed, fairly intense, warm plum flavours with a lingering, tangy, slightly buttery,vanilla-caramel finish. Last appeared in Vintages (not presented) on April 29, 2011 at $174.95. Evaluated in three different glasses, the Eisch small tulip-shaped whiskey glass worked perfectly making it ultra smooth and bringing out a touch of sweetness. Not presented at the press preview in the LCBO lab. Assessed from a freshly-opened 20 cl bottle provided by the agent. CSPC 145466

TASTING NOTE: Classic Cognac in virtually every sense of the word & one of Hine's best blends. Medium orange-caramel in colour, it is marked by incredible aromas of all natural caramel and butterscotch, giving way to a cornucopia of spirit-styled petits fruits rouges, orange citrus, graphite, and exotic spices all terrifically potent. Palate: rich, profound, with amazing dimension and style. Supple yet graceful; opulent and exciting. The full package, with a price to show for it.
