TASTING NOTE: ...has all the hallmarks of a malt which contains casks a lot older than the stated age: the fruit is of the exotic variety and the manner in which those fruit and defter floral notes effortlessly intertwine confirms not just the magnificence of quality but also familiarity between oak and malt; silky and soft with the balance of the light sugars to barley almost perfect; the vanillas grow, as they should, but the freshness to the barley never diminishes; slightly on the furry side but now the vanillas dance and the light spices begin to arrive; just how good this whisky would have been at cask strength or even at 46 absolutely terrifies me.
