GRAN RESERVA 21 YEARS OLD HIGHLAND SINGLE MALT Rum Cask Finish
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer GLENFIDDICH
Not presented at the press preview in the LCBO lab. Here is my previous note: Medium deep golden amber colour. Gently honeyed, spicy, ripe plum nose with some vanilla notes. Dry, medium bodied, well structured, harmonious, slightly spicy, ripe, plummy-caramel flavours with a lingering, fairly crisp, vanilla-driven, faintly smoky finish. Last appeared in Vintages (***+) on June 9, 2012 at $236.95 and was Recommended. CSPC 981381

Harmonious Caramel-Plum Puree

TASTING NOTE: Finished for up to four months in bourbon barrels that once contained rum, this single malt has impact and power. Rum toffee and ripe banana aromas whiff from the glass, followed by a taste that's deep, big and full with flavours of fig, vanilla toffee, brown spices, ginger and molasses. The finish is long and spicy. Score - 95+ (Margaret Swaine, winealign.com, Oct. 30, 2012) Price $ 241.95
