LOT NO. 76 XO TRADITION COGNAC AC, Grande Champagne
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer TESSERON
Gently ambering light yellow-gold colour. Harmonious, intense, slightly spicy, classy, dried ripe plum nose with some caramel notes. Lovely, honeyed, medium to medium-full bodied, harmonious, smooth, ripe caramel-plum puree flavours with a lingering, faintly spicy, vanilla-tinged finish. Wow is this ever wonderful. CSPC 104802

TASTING NOTE: [translated from the French] The Tesseron family also owns the Grand Cru Pontet-Canet in Pauillac, and for over a century developed cognacs to sell to large houses to make their own products. Since 2003, it has created this eaux-de-vie line that comes in four batches. It displays an amber colour and has aromas with floral, spicy and woody notes. The attack is soft and then the palate grows in strength with hints of chocolate and a slight Maderisation. A 'manly' Cognac that will be perfect with a cigar. Score - 1 Stars (out of 3 (Very well-made wine)). (Guide Hachette, 2010) Price $ 149.95
