Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
ARMORIK |
Light yellow-gold colour. Very gently spicy, somewhat honeyed, caramel-tinged, gently floral nose. Refined, smooth, honeyed, slightly spicy, gently sweet, ripe plum purée and caramel flavours with a slightly floral, long, lingering finish. Produced by the Distillerie Warenghem, which was founded in 1900 in Lannion (Brittany) on the banks of the river Leguer. Armorik was the first Single Malt in Brittany, introduced in 1999. The new Amorik Double Maturation is first stored in locally produced Breton oak and finally for two years in Spanish Oloroso Sherry barrels. The alcohol level is 46%. |

TASTING NOTE: Smoky and grainy with elderflower, citrus pith and fresh raspberries on the nose. In the mouth it stacks up into a sultry, smooth mouthfeel accentuated by citrus, and honey as well as smoke before culminating into a long, mellow, smoky finish. Special Designation: Excellent. Highly Recommended. Score - 90 (Ultimate Spirits Challenge, 2013) |
