This warming, enticingly perfumed spirit was distilled in the Chrysopoeia, Poli's innovative vacuum double boiler still, and then aged for 1 year in French oak barriques. This Grappa's name honours Cleopatra the Alchemist, a 3rd or 4th century alchemist, philosopher and author of the Chrysopoeia of Cleopatra who was also credited with inventing the alembic - an early version of the pot still. She may not have succeeded in producing gold, but Poli certainly has. Price $ 79.95
