CRISTOBAL 1492 |
Extremely deep intense purple colour. Slightly dusty, spicy, warm plum nose with lots of cedar notes. Dry, medium bodied, slightly herbal, plummy, apple-cherry flavours with a lingering, slightly cedary finish. Better than the 2007 (*/*+) released on February 20, 2010 at $12.95. |

Cristobal 1492 Barrel Selection Merlot is 100% Merlot sourced from the La Niņa vineyard (their two other primary vineyards are of course La Pinta and La Santa Maria), situated at an elevation of some 630 metres above sea level. Hand-harvested and aged in new oak for 12 months before bottling, this value-priced wine will be a smooth and fruit forward expression of Merlot with vanilla, ripe dark fruit and spice notes. |
