CABERNET ICEWINE 2013 VQA Niagara Peninsula
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer HENRY OF PELHAM
Bright light reddish pink colour. Attractive, sweet, ripe plum-strawberry puree nose with some vanilla notes. Sweet, medium to medium-light bodied, fairly viscous, rounded, creamy, very ripe, plum-strawberry flavours with a lingering, fairly crisp finish. Ready-to-drink. Has 9.5% alcohol and 245 g/L residual sugar. This repeat seems a tad better than the 2013 (**+) released on November 22, 2014 at $39.95. For comparison purposes, the price for a 375 ml bottle is $75.38. CSPC 672402

TASTING NOTE: Aromas and flavours of spice, strawberry and mixed field berry abound. It's balanced on a pin with sweet ripe fruit mingling with tangy acidity on the palate and stunning finish. It's full bodied and fully textured and not the least cloying. Pour on its own as dessert for a decadent, romantic treat between two people or alongside strawberries dipped in dark chocolate.
