CÔTE DES ROSES ROSÉ 2013 AP Languedoc |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
GÉRARD BERTRAND |
Bright very pale light salmon pink colour. Slightly spicy, faintly honeyed, gently fruity, ripe plum nose. Thankfully dry (only 3 g/L residual sugar), medium-light bodied, slightly spicy, pleasant, fresh, berry-tinged, ripe, melon-plum-apple flavours with a crisp, unoaked finish. Attractive bottle and ready-to-drink. This 13% alcohol blend of Grenache, Cinsault and Syrah is a repeat of the recommended 2013 (**/**+) released on May 10, 2014 at $19.95. |

A blend of Grenache, Cinsault and Syrah. TASTING NOTE: Aside from the unique, collectible glass stopper, this has a substantial nose and mouthful of aromas and flavours. Aromas of red berry fruit, wild herbs and mixed spice intro a medium-bodied, nicely textured splash of ripe strawberry, tangy cranberry and red cherry mingling with cherry cordial and red licorice. It finishes dry and refreshing looking for a deli board or crumbled chèvre over mesclun mix. Score - 4 Stars (out of 5 (Wines of excellence)) (Vic Harradine, winecurrent.com, May 7, 2014) |
