RESERVA MALBEC 2011 Mendoza |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
NORTON |
Deep intense purple colour. Hot, very slightly spicy, baked plum nose with some peppery notes. Dry, medium bodied, fairly extracty, somewhat peppery, baked plum flavours with a lingering, somewhat tart, bitter, cedary finish. The lot number L40114 appears on the back label. Has 14.5% alcohol and 8 g/L residual sugar. Tasted three times. You can safely ignore the totally out-of-date 92-point tasting note appearing in the Vintages Catalogue which was based on a different bottling. The 2010 (*+) was released on January 18, 2014 at $17.95. |

TASTING NOTE: Toasty yet ripe, showing ample mesquite and mocha notes to the raspberry ganache and rich plum fruit. Silky tannins line the dark, cream-tinged finish. Drink now through 2018. Smart Buys. #36 in The Top 100 of 2013. Score - 92 (Nathan Wesley, winespectator.com, Nov. 15, 2013) |
