CAVES D'ESCLANS |
Extremely pale day glo faint pink colour. Somewhat shy, ripe plum nose. Fairly dry, medium-light to light bodied, slightly spicy, plum-apple flavours with a crisp, unoaked finish. Has 13% alcohol and 6 g/L residual sugar. Not up to the drier 2013 (**) with only 3 g/L residual sugar released on August 2, 2014 at $23.95. A pass at the price. |

Château d'Esclans was named the 2014 Wine Enthusiast European Winery of the Year. TASTING NOTE: The nose is quite pretty with impressive notes of spring flowers, lavender, apricot and touches of garrigue. Bright acidity gives this great shape. Tangy and fresh with great lift. Notes of apricot and nectarine add more depth. A nice match for barbecued shrimp and summer salads. (VINTAGES panel, March 2015) |
