III LUSTROS GRAN RESERVA BRUT NATURE CAVA 2006 DO Cava |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
GRAMONA |
Bright very light straw colour. Somewhat shy, slightly spicy, melon-apple nose. Dry, medium bodied, slightly spicy, bright melon-apple-lemon flavours with a very crisp, gently complex, fairly effervescent finish. Tasted twice - a pass at the price. |

TASTING NOTE: The 2006 III Lustros Gran Reserva Brut Nature is a blend of 75% Xarello and 25% Macabeo with very extensive aging of 72 months in contact with the lees before being disgorged. Yep, 72 months is five years, and it shows good complexity with a fine bouquet of antique shop, incense, freshly-baked brioche, fennel and a dash of diesel, lanolin and other mineral/chemical aromas. This is one of the best quality-to-price ratio Cavas in existence today. Drink now-2019. Score - 93 (Luis Gutierrez, erobertparker.com, Feb. 2014) |
