DOM PÉRIGNON CHAMPAGNE 2004 Altum Villare Limited Edition, AC
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer MOËT & CHANDON
Bright medium straw colour. Attractive, intense, complex, very gently toasty, warm brioche nose with some lemon meringue notes. Dry, medium bodied, harmonious, with some very slightly spicy, ripe lemon meringue flavours with a lingering, gently toasty, tangy finish. Still very fresh with 12.5% alcohol and only 8 g/L residual sugar. Perhaps still not quite up to the great Dom Pérignon 2002 (***+) released on November 21, 2009 at $219.95. OK Intense, have one complaint and that is the battery button in the bottom of the bottle, which when pressed lights up the bright lime green Don Perignon logo on the bottle so you can see it a pitch black room. TASTING NOTE: A graceful Champagne, with minerally drive. Firm acidity and a rich vein of smoky mineral meshes with the plush texture, offering finely woven flavors of mirabelle jam, toasted brioche, crunchy pear, honey and smoked almond. Delivers a long, mouthwatering finish. Drink now through 2029. Score - 95 (Alison Napjus, winespectator.com, Dec. 31, 2014) Price $ 245.95
