Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |

SEGURA VIUDAS |
Bright light straw colour. Complex, intense, attractive, honeyed, toasty, ripe lemon-melon-apple nose. Dry, medium bodied, well structured, harmonious, attractive, very tangy, ripe lemon-melon flavours with good effervescence and a lingering, very crisp, toasty finish. A tasty, ready to enjoy Cava that comes in a heavy, fancy, metal-clad bottle. |

TASTING NOTE: Golden, with some green notes, this limited-production Cava, a blend of the first pressing of estate grown Macabeo and Parellada, displays depth and lovely balance. Intense aromas of pear, citrus and toasted butter pastry entice. Dry, bright and fresh, it has a refined creamy mousse and a lively, crisp texture. Rich flavours of Bosc pear and lemon-lime wash across the palate and linger on the clean, persistent finish. A sparkling wine of presence and weight, it presents well as a gift or served at any holiday gathering. Score - 4.5 (Stars out of 5) (Susan Desjardins, winecurrent.com, June 10, 2015) |
